Today we hosted the Frühschoppen (lunchtime drinking party) for the 80th anniversary of the Kattowitzer Hut – one of the many mountain huts aroundabouts.

The Hütte is owned by one of the Sections of the DAV (German Alpine Association) and many people had come from there to join in. About 80 people eat, drank and jigged along to the music on our car park in the sunshine. Turns out the chair of the Section travels regularly to Swindon as that is his hometown’s twin town – so spoke good English and promised to come back next year and stay over!

Hard work but worth it & good fun – our friends who are staying mucked in to help and afterwards we all had a Guinness to celebrate!
