Winter
Whether you are a skier, a boarder, a skater, an ice climber, or just love the snow, Carinthia has something to offer you.
Because we are not situated in the middle of a ski resort, we would not suggest that those of you who want to be on the slopes from sunrise to sundown necessarily book with us (although we would love to have you all!). But if you want to enjoy a range of winter sports, or ski/board a different resort every day, or just have some nice later starts and easy days, then consider us! There a range of lift passes available to suit every need and our local resorts all have English speaking instructors and guides. families are especially well catered for and the advantages of staying away from the main resort area if you have children are well known.
The Valley is home to some of the best ice climbing opportunities in Europe, – a fact well known in Germany and other European countries but not so widely recognised in the UK and Ireland. After all we have to do something with our waterfalls in winter! Once a year we host the Eis-Total festival – an opportunity for ice climbers from all over the world to come together and share the fun.
