By Rail
Our nearest station is Spittal an der Drau and there is a bus to Malta from Spittal. The National Park also operates a shuttle service for people coming by rail to Obervellach. The German railways have a MotoRail Service to Villach which can save at least part of the journey from northern Europe.

By Road
- From most of northern Europe head for Salzburg.
- From Salzburg take the A10 south
- Exit at junction signposted to Gmünd
- Follow signs to Malta and Maltatal
- Turn right into Village Centre
- Turn right at Maltaberg sign
- We are approx 300 metres further on with cool refreshing drinks at the ready!
If you fancy a more exciting route (summer only) come through Zell am See and take the Grossglocknerhochalpstrasse (Toll Road)
From Klagenfurt Airport
- Take A2 towards Villach
- At Villach Knoten (Villach interchange) take A10 towards Salzburg
- Exit at junction for Gmünd
- Follow directions above
From Ljubljana Airport
- Take A2 towards Villach
- At Villach Knoten (Villach interchange) take A10 towards Salzburg
- Follow directions above
