Swimming

Like many places in Austria, Malta has its own outdoor swimming pool and guests in the village are treated as 'honorary citizens 'for the period of their stay and get free entry. Our pool is located 5 minutes walk from the hotel and is open during the warmer months.

10 minutes away, the swimming pool in Gmünd has a waterslide, other play facilities and an onsite restaurant and offers free entry to Kärnten Card holders or after 5.00pm.

If you prefer a more 'natural' dip – the water in the local river is cool and clear, or drive just 20 minutes to reach the Millstättersee with its thermal springs and mineral rich waters.

Other swimming lakes in the region include the Weissensee, the Presseggersee, the Ossiachersee and the Wörthersee, each with their own 'feel' and all in breathtaking surroundings.

As well as swimming in the lakes you can take part in a wide range of other water based activities; boating, windsurfing, diving and waterskiing to name but a few. Holders of the Kärnten Card get great discounts for many of these lakeside attractions.
